I have worked in the valley as an NP since 2017 and worked in both medical and psychiatry. I am board certified by the AANP in Family Medicine, and board certified by the ANCC in Psychiatry/Mental Health. The last several years have been primarily focused on outpatient psychiatric care and addiction medicine. I also have a background in emergency nursing and spent most of my career as an RN at HonorHealth working in the emergency department at Deer Valley Medical Center.
I offer patient centered care and firmly believe that patient participation in decision making and treatment planning is the most important factor to successful outcomes. Together we will decide what is the best course for care. I have a minimalist approach when it comes to medications. My goal is for patients to feel their best on the least number of medications as possible. I listen to my patient’s and prioritize their needs. There is no “one size fits all” and every person I see is treated based on their individual preferences. I take time to get to know my patients and I genuinely care about making treatment choices that are the best fit for their life.
When I’m not busy, you can find me exploring new places, gardening, crafting, or cheering on my favorite football team. I’ve got degrees from ASU, GCU, and U of A, but my heart belongs to the Sun Devils. Forks Up! I’m also a long time Arizona Cardinals fan. I love going to the games and tailgating with my friends and family.
I have been working as a Nurse Practitioner since 2017, primarily focusing on addiction medicine. Prior to that I worked as an emergency nurse for over 10 years. I received my Masters Degree from Grand Canyon University, and am board certified by the AANP in Family Medicine. I later received my Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certificate from the University of Arizona, and am board certified by the ANCC in Psychiatry and Mental Health.
My approach with patients begins with kindness and respect. I am open to each patient’s concerns and spend the necessary time to listen and address the issues that have been raised. I am conservative with medications and look at all options to find out what will work best for them. My goal in patient care is to provide them the opportunity to feel their ideal self.
In my personal time, I am kept busy with my husband and three children. I enjoy being outdoors and love the Arizona heat. I test my mental strength by supporting local sports teams such as the AZ Cardinals and Phoenix Suns.
